For Holly and Jake’s snowy engagement session we hit the road and traveled to one of my favorite locations in the mountains Colorado just outside of Denver for an evening filled of fun and laughter.

Every single session I shoot is unique. That’s because every single couple / family I work with is unique. Each relationship and connection has their own characteristics and that’s displayed differently from one relationship to the next. Having worked with Holly and Jake previously when I photographed some family portraits for them, I knew exactly how I was going to photograph their relationship for this fun snowy session we planned!
Despite all the snow on the ground, the weather was absolutely amazing and not too cold … a bearable cold. Holly brought fun winter accessories, a snowball fight ensued, lots of laughter and we ended the blissful evening with some hot cocoa.
Insider tip: make your hot cocoa at home + pack it in an insulated tumbler. It’s definitely not tasty, but makes for a cute prop. You’re welcome! 😉
If you want snowy photos, this location will always be my number one recommendation. It’s about 50 minutes outside of Denver and up a windy mountain but well worth the drive for the views and the beautiful scenery. Every client that’s chosen this spot as their location has absolutely fallen in love with it!
