Summertime in Colorado is the perfect time for an adventure anniversary session. On top of Colorado’s undeniable beauty is its diversity in landscape. Of course you have the mountains, millions of pine trees in the forests, flat open country fields, sand dunes (check out my sand dunes blog post), rocky terrain, lakes, rivers and gosh so much more. I was so stoked when Lauren said she wanted her anniversary session in a creek-bed where she spent her summers growing up.
Lauren + Cris’ Colorado Adventure Anniversary Session
Adventure sessions are different from my standard couples sessions for many reasons. Number one being that these locations are not easily accessible; they require some hiking. To get to this beautiful location, we had to put a little sweat into it but man was it worth it. The walk down is a breeze as it’s all downhill, which works to your advantage so that you aren’t all crazy sweaty before pictures.
After we were done shooting and Lauren + Cris were soaking wet (scroll to the very end of the gallery to see why) we made our trek back to our cars. THIS is where the sweat comes into play, but I am sure to plan out a good timeline so that we can take breaks.
This adventure session was hands down one of my favorites as a photographer. I love being challenged and changing things up from the norm.
